Slacklining in Krakow

Hi there!

(finally understood enough polish to get my ass into your forum)

Norwegian guy here.. Just moved to Krakow from Oslo, and I'm looking for other slackers to rig som lines with.

First of all, I need som help finding out where in Krakow i can buy webbing, and it would be cool if someone can tell me witch park most slackers hang out in down here..

you can buy webbing on the Fieldorfa Nila Street...

in Krakow park no to much slackers... i never see anyone beside me Smile

I do indoor climbing at Forteca (in Ul. Raclawicka), and I'm going there tomorrow (tuesday). Maybe I'll pop by Fieldorfa and pick up some webbing as well:) It's not that far away. But isnt there another shop closer to the city centre?

I live on Garncarska in Nowy Swiat, and dont quite understand the trams and buses here yet. Guess I'll just have to figure out. So far I've had my line up in Park im H. Jordana, but seen no other lines. Saw a bunch of jugglers though. riding one-wheel-bikes and flipping devilsticks, jugglingballs and that stuff.. was kind of surprised they dindt have a slackline :lol:

Where are you people from? I am keen about rigging some long- or highline if the click is big enough! Saw some awesome pics from a szczecin urban highline on the slicklinebrothers site:

That might tricky to do legally, but I'm so keen on just rigging a normal line between two chimneys on a rooftop. wold be so cool pictures!

I'll hang around the forum to get to know the slickliners of cracow better. My polish sucks couse I've onle been here for two weeks. But ill stay for another six years!

(and if you like slakkline.no because of the girls, I study together with at least 100 norwegian girls you can teach how to walk:wink: )

So You are already in Poland/Krakow. I'm happy you found this shop - the webbing there is very cheap. I think you didn't see anybody because only John is slacklining in this park and mayby then there werent't him. So - good luck and wonderful highlines! (prophecy from slackline.com forum Smile

Hell yeah we'll show em! slacking to the people, thats what Im talkin about. Guess ill start converting the students at school, and itll spread from there. in one week i already convinced two people to go and buy i line of their own.

Ill be hanging out in the parks somewhere. as soon i find a sweet spot i can tell you (john) where it is.

about the chimneytrick; i was thinking about rigging between two brick-chimneys. not the circular metal-ones.. ill let you knoe i i find a nice roof with wiew! (if not any of you guys live at a top-floor that is?

I think it's a crazy idea with this highline between the roofs, but of course it's cool man Very Happy

! If you want try an urban highline maybe we can go together to Szczecin. They'll do some urban highline.

P.S. Maybe somebody else is willing to go?

i understand it's not between the roofs, but between two chimneys over one roof. so in this way, it's not gonna be a higline.
and the clue is a view.

I'm afraid that rigging a slack on a brick chimney might be tricky... I think that Polish chimneys aren't sturdy enough to hold the tension of the line.. Rolling Eyes

Ill be moving to a loft apartment near rynek next week. I'll give you feedback on the chimneys;)

i read somewhere that a typical line anchorpoint (tree, lamp post, chimney?) must be able to withstand 900 pounds of pull. isnt that like 400 kilos? (1lb=450g)

I say its worth a try. Maybe we'll start a new underground roofslacking-thing?! whatever. its gonna be cool.

by the way, none of you answered my question on where you are from. Just john and me from Krakow here?

I live in a 120 yrs old tenement with a slanting roof... and the chimneys are quire dreadful
